is this it?

Sofari.net has been parked here for a while now nothing happening. This is especially annoying seeing as I paid for this thing. Unfortunately little things like travel, a worrying economic climate and that ‘life’ thing had other ideas. More on my obligatory 'hello world' post after the jump...
I had it in my head that what this site really needed was the perfect layout, that somehow the right combination of colours and fonts would be the foundation on which to build this amazing beast. As though by having a nice layout, I would suddenly transform into an amazing blogger with perfect grammar, enthralling topics and razor sharp wit. All that happened was grayscale and a big void where content should be.
Truth is, those good things take practice, which in turn takes time.
No time = no awesome.
So while this site will be left wanting for some time, the most important thing is just to start the fucker, and take it from there.
The name seemed like a good idea at the time. One of my most prized possessions is the sofa I’m reclining on right now. It’s an old chesterfield, one of those studded leather things you find in pubs and hotel lobbies, where every move makes a brilliant creaking noise that just makes you want to wallow a little longer. I try not to think about where all this leather came from. I’m probably resting my head on what’s left of Daisy’s arse cheek right now.
The sofa is where I consume most of my media. It’s the place where I can relax and get wrapped up in a video game, book, album or movie. Ergo, sofari or SOFA safaRI - geddit? The .com was taken.
I should also say that I’m not much of a TV fan. I only use it when we’ve got company and I need some background noise for a trip to the bathroom - the cost of cheap inner-Sydney living is space. And as a result so is the chance of hearing people poo. So that sums up my idea of television, it is good to stop people hearing you poo.
So welcome to my sofa. Enjoy yourself, pick up a controller and if you hear Everybody Loves Raymond - you might want to give it a while.
